Environment

Jai Hind Environment Movement

The Earth is the only planet in the universe that supports life and, therefore, the resources provided by it are valuable to human life. The environment is, therefore, a blanket that keeps life on the planet safe and sound. It plays a vital role in keeping living beings and the things that surround us healthy. Likewise, it also maintains the ecological balance that keeps life in check on our planet Earth. It provides us with the basic survival tools, i.e., food, shelter, air, and fulfills all our human needs, whether big or small.

However, it is the activities caused by us that are perilous to our Mother Earth and are the major reason for environmental degradation. Most of the activities that we humans undertake are harmful to the environment. These activities cause degradation in various forms, viz. air, water, and soil pollution, ineffective environmental policies, the use of chemicals, and smoke emitted from factories. Greenhouse gases produce global warming and ozone depletion, which further cause glaciers to melt, thus hampering our entire ecosystem and causing an ecological imbalance.

One must remember, at the same time, that the environment’s contribution to life cannot be repaid once its resources have fully perished, and we cannot be saved. Therefore, we must be more careful in how we treat it, as we are constantly damaging and degrading it after everything the Earth has done for us.

Hence, the Jai Hind Environment Movement, to support the cause of fighting and saving our Mother Earth and to improve environmental conditions, has taken up various projects that are as follows:

  • Tree Plantation at Various Places - School, Temple Area, Funeral Places
  • Adopt Tree Scheme
  • Cleanliness Scheme (Swachata Abhiyan) - Ward Wise Programme for cleanliness
  • Saving of Water, Electricity and Money

“Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s needs, but not every man’s greed.”
Mahatma Gandhi
