Reading Resolution

Jayhind Reading Movement

Reading enriches our thoughts and enhances our personality. The primary goal of this movement is to cultivate a love for reading from an early age, especially among children, and to foster the development of their personality, language, and values through it. Along with children, this initiative also aims to inspire reading habits among adults—both men and women—and among youth.

Reading not only refines the language skills of children but also of adults. To ensure this habit begins early, groups of five children are formed and encouraged to read books. After reading, they are asked to present the content and write a summary of the book. Such activities help improve their comprehension and expression skills.

Various initiatives are implemented, such as:

  • Setting up and maintaining libraries in villages.
  • Organizing mobile libraries and lecture series.
  • Conducting training sessions on how to read and write effectively.
  • Hosting interactions with renowned authors.
Language development is the foundation for understanding and excelling in all subjects. If children get access to the right books and truly understand the purpose and essence of those books, they naturally adopt good values. This inspires them to set goals in life and work diligently to achieve them.

For building a strong society, nurturing moral values is crucial. This reading movement helps fulfil that goal. Even if a child reads just two books a month and grasps their content, by the time they move from 5th to 10th grade, they will have read around 100 books, greatly enriching their knowledge and worldview.

"One best book is equal to a hundred good friends, and one good friend is like an entire library." – Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
