Jai Hind Education
Education
To establish an educational system that offers world-class qualitative standards and is easily accessible and affordable especially for the deprived classes—is of vital importance. We must acknowledge that since independence, the importance of education has spread far and wide. The literacy rate, which was less than 10% at the time of independence, has now risen to 88%. Engineering and medical fields have made significant strides in professional education.
However, despite these statistics, nearly 20% of the population remains illiterate, unable to afford even primary education. This number is comparable to the entire population of the USA that is still unaware of basic literacy. A major reason for this is that many of these individuals belong to tribal and backward areas, where formal education is not considered essential. Women from these regions, in particular, often remain excluded from education due to deep-rooted social and cultural barriers.
A society cannot grow or remain healthy if these marginalized groups are deprived of education. Education is a powerful medium for human empowerment and significantly enhances the quality of life. Along with the government, society must also actively and positively contribute to the field of education to empower every individual.
Education must, therefore, reach every doorstep and evolve into a national movement that provides equal opportunities for everyone to educate themselves. Only then can individuals live dignified and fulfilling lives.
